BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Bestselling powerhouse country singer Wynonna and her band The Big Noise will perform a show of her mega hits and rocking new covers Friday, Aug. 10, 2012.

The five-time Grammy Award winner rose to superstardom with her mother Naomi Judd as The Judds in the early ’80s, with chart toppers like “Mama He’s Crazy,” “Why Not Me” and “Grandpa (Tell Me ’Bout the Good Old Days).” The Judds were unstoppable for the rest of the decade and picked up a bevy of Grammy, CMA and ACM awards while selling more than 20 million albums. Wynonna then went solo, and her success hasn’t slowed.

Her string of hit albums started with her quintuple platinum 1992 solo debut, “Wynonna,” which featured four No. 1 hits and was the bestselling country album ever by a female artist at that time. In 1994, Wynonna received the coveted Top Female Vocalist of the Year trophy at the ACM Awards. Engaging the soulful, bluesy side of her voice, subtle while part of The Judds, Wynonna has sold more than 10 million albums, with six chart toppers of her own. Wynonna also is a New York Times bestselling author thanks to her 2005 memoir, “Coming Home to Myself.” Due to popular demand, The Judds have embarked on a second, highly successful tour, “The Last Encore.”

Now, Wynonna is writing the next chapter of her career with her eighth studio album, due later this year. Her first fiction novel, Restless Heart, draws on nearly 30 years of experience as a country music megastar to tell the story of an aspiring country singer, according to her website bio. “The Judds,” a new docu-series, airs on the OWN channel.
